THE STORM

This is the last photo image that the camera on the Lake Powell launch ramp recorded before the wind blowing in THE STORM knocked it out on Monday August 16th. What you can't see is what came just minuets after. There were huge black clouds, loud thunder and HUGE streaks of lightning all around. There was hail and wind and oh yea....at least 8ft waves rolling through the bay. And in it all was one little boat full of Hoovers with nowhere to go but straight into THE STORM. We made it out a little shaken but all alive and we will all remember this boat ride for a LONG time! It was an exciting ending to a great trip at Lake Powell that is for sure!

  1. Great photo. You must have taken this after you came through it. When we were waiting and watching to see if you got caught in this, it looked just like the picture. Then we saw a little white boat emerge from the wall of water. You guessed it, it was the Ellis boat. We're glad you made it. Next time ? don't go into a rampant storm. Duck into a side canyon and wait it out. Great shot. Until the next adventure.
