Yesterday we had a fun day-trip up to a town in the Cascade Mountains called Leavenworth, WA. It's themed as a "Bavarian" village, and it definitely reminded me of home. They have a rope tow right in town, so we spent several hours skiing with the boys and burning holes in our gloves on the tow ropes. There were snow piles all over in town, so wherever there was a hill - right in downtown, it became a sledding hill. The downtown was packed like the picture, and at 4:30pm they turn on all the Christmas lights at the same time, and have musical performances. Then we joined the Bavarian lantern parade and followed the 4 wise men to see a living nativity, and they had a live donkey, and goats, and the shepherds brought a llama! It was really fun. We sat next to a girl and her daughter from Seattle, who was born in Provo! Amazing how small the world is. We had a great time, and felt at home there. It was especially nice to end the evening with the nativity and remembering Christ. We love you all. Merry Christmas!Sunday, December 19, 2010
