For the last 3 years or so, I've been working on a wellness program, something I could encorporate into my practice. I have created the basics of a 12 week program....And who better to enjoy the benefits of this study than my family!! Thus -
Welcome to the Hoover WELLNESS Challenge! - a 12 week course of nutrition and exercise that is going to change your life! WOW! Sounds exciting doesn't it! My goal is to teach you some usefull tools to help you make choices that will improve you and your families health from now on.
By completing the Challenge you will see the following benefits -
-Reduce your cholesterol
-Increase your energy
-Closer approximate your ideal weight
-Increase blood flow to your heart
-Increase metabolism
-Increase muscle strength
If Dad can let us know how much it would be to get a cholesterol screening done. If you haven't had your cholesterol taken in the last year you can get one before starting at the lab. ( I don't think you have to have a dr. order for this do you?)
Sign up for the program in the comments, and I'll give you your first assignment the last week of December. This program is for everyone!! Mom's, Dad's, Girls Boys, Even pregnant ladies and children can participate. Success in lifestyle changes comes when you are a part of a group, especially if that group is your family.
So think of it as a Christmas gift, or a new years resolution to help our family be healthier this year forward.
Count me in! Mom
ReplyDeleteMe and Bryce will do it
ReplyDeleteI want to now more about what I am committing to do before I sign up..but it sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteWhat you should expect are diet - changing what you eat, no starvation, eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, as much as you need, focusing on veggies and healthy meats. The first 2 weeks of the program are more strict. The third week starts adding in some exercises ABO 15min, and we work up to 1 hour 2-3 times a week by the end of 12 weeks. You can do it! Call me if you want to discuss it more. - Heather
ReplyDeleteSounds cool Heather. I'll try it!
ReplyDeleteI will have to see if I can work it into my school schedule when I get it all together but it sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little behind checking the family blog - we'll have to start our 12 weeks maybe the first of February, but we'll do it! awesome!
